To Procrastinate or Not to Procrastinate

As we approach the end of the semester I feel the stress levels rising all around me. You can always tell the student who has been on top of his/her studies throughout the semester from those who have not based

Congratulations to the newest Binghamton City Councilwomen, my soror Dr. Angela Riley and Aviva Friedman! #WomenLead #BlackWomenLead #RunAsYouAre #Election2019 #Extremist
Yesterday we stood in solidarity with Black people all over the US; honoring our historical victories as well as the Black lives we’ve lost in the struggle — especially Black Femme and Trans folx. Today we cast our vote to continue on the road to a bigger, better and brighter future because our #Vote is our voice and #everyvotematters. #ElectionDay #Election2019 #EveryVoteCounts #WeAreBinghamton #BinghamtonU

Had an amazing time on Thursday with the @binghamtonu Distinguished Speaker Series Committee as we hosted @svcanals, Binghamton alumnus and co-creator, writer, director and executive producer of the award winning @POSEonFX. I spent the entire day thinking something about Steven seemed so familiar — then you realize you met before, because #HigherEd and Student Affairs is really a small world. You can always spot a kindred spirit; so much of Steven’s story and the wisdom he shared resonated with me. Two pieces of advice that he shared, which will join my forever quote space: “Let’s never minimize the importance of talking to a person as a human and creating a shared heart space.” “We need to think about how we include the identities and lived experiences of our students in the curriculum.” Thanks for giving of so much of your heart and time, @svcanals! Until we meet again, keep “leaning into the truth with a big T!” #SApro #BingStonewall50 #LASU50 #LGBTQHistoryMonth #QOTD #Latergram

Hey Bing, @svcanals is inviting you to come meet him at “An Evening with Steven Canals” our Latinx Heritage Month meets Pride Month Keynote event; don’t miss it! Steven is the co-creator, writer, director, and executive producer of the award winning @POSEonFx. Tickets are free for students, faculty and staff; and just $7 for our friends, guest and community supporters. I’m so excited! #WeAreBinghamton #BingStonewall50 #LGBTQHistoryMonth #PrideMonth #ForTheCulture #BinghamtonU
Binghamton crew at @AmericaEast #SpreadRespect Forum Day 1. It was such an honor to learn from and meet the amazing Dr. Richard Lapchick. #WeAreBinghamton #BinghamtonU #Udiversity
Rest in power @repcummings. Today we are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Congressman Elijah Cummings, a true mentor for so many Black Millennials and a staunch advocate for equity and racial justice. Our hearts go out to his family and congressional district. #BMCSpotlight #BMCMovement
Today was a hectic day, but one of the highlights was being surprised by one of my Grads with a special treat for #NationalBossDay; that I honestly didn’t even know about. Our team has expanded and i’m so very grateful that’s it’s filled with phenomenal people. #nationalbossday
So proud of my soror, @ladyangela124, the Democratic Candidate for Binghamton City Council 3rd District. She is truly phenomenal. Check out her campaign at @friendsofangelariley.
“I’ll always fight for these stories. I’m invested in portraying the full human experience, especially for people that look like me.” — Ruben Santiago-Hudson. It was such an honor meeting and learning from the accomplished Ruben Santiago-Hudson this week as a part of our “Not for Nothing Other: African American Portrayals 1930s to today” exhibit and series of events. It has been a true pleasure collaborating with the team on this exhibit and experiences. The talent, the stories, the full reflection of African Americans as full and whole human beings is something you truly have to experience. Don’t miss this exhibit running in the Binghamton University Art Musuem now until Dec 2019. #MyBlackisBeautiful #Creativist #BlackArt #BlackLivesMatter
Forever in our hearts, my 62. Saying goodbye to our LS was one of the hardest things we’ve ever done, but we did it in true ROTD form. Helping to carry the load and spending time with my Sorors and Chi’s family helped us to feel just a little closer to Chi. Thank you to all of our #LovelyLambdaPsi and #DST1913 Sorors, UF Alumni, friends and family that helped us celebrate the life of Chi this past weekend. Chi will live on through us and the Tanya Chiaka Aslanda Oparah Educational Fund, which has raised over $7000. Our deepest love and appreciation!
