Thoughts Transform: Let Your Faith Shine

Let your faith shine through!Today, in the spirit of #ThoughtfulThursday, I bring you the first of many posts on thoughts that may transform your outlook or enjoyment of life.

Last week Maya Angelou, one of my all time favorite activists and poets, was called home to glory.  What I loved most about Dr. Angelou, was her unwavering ability to have faith in people, no matter the circumstance.  Her faith was more than just a personal source of strength, courage, opportunity, love, determination, pride, imagination, creativity, and success, it also kindled the fire of the same for so many others.

In the spirit of Dr. Angelou, my grandmother, and the many others who have gone home to glory, I will ardently work to “let my faith shine through” every day and I hope you will do the same!  I have come to believe, wholeheartedly in the power of positive thinking (another T).  Faith in positive outcomes can help you see the beauty in every situation and life lesson.  Faith is more than the whim of an optimistic dreamer it is a guiding light, a manifestation of love, trust, and connection with all that is seen and unseen.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  (Hebrews 11:1, KJV).

So let your faith shine through and joy is soon to follow!

Share your thought(s) after the T!

Love,
T

Today’s history lesson courtesy of @mspackyetti and @politico... IT WAS NEVER ABOUT MORTALITY! #Repost @mspackyetti: this White House and conservative state governments across the country have been playing the long game: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Quietly change the courts at every level, including the Supreme Court, to secure conservative majorities. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Pursue state bans on abortion through multiple strategies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. Use the momentum and precedent to challenge Roe v. Wade altogether. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ THIS IS NOT ABOUT MORALITY. IT IS ABOUT POWER. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Check it: the “religious right” essentially chose abortion as the fight because it could be used as a unifying political issue between Catholics and Protestants. White evangelicals had lost trying to defend segregation, and needed a new bandwagon. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ They were NOT up in arms when Roe became law. It was SIX years later when they decided to “care,” which only meant to make a power play. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Even if you don’t care about that, know this: abortion bans DO NOT end abortions. They simply make them extremely dangerous and lethal for the women who have to go to back allies to have them. One in Four American women will have an abortion. Do you want her to be safe, or nah? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If that STILL doesn’t matter to you, how about this: Women are PEOPLE. We deserve control over our bodies, just like you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Swipe and visit the links in my stories/ morning news highlights to get the real history of the politics of abortion in America and find out what YOU CAN DO to fight this back. Info on last two slides is from an article by Mia Brett. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Outrage is meaningless if it doesn’t lead to action. ❤️✊🏾
