Thoughts Transform: Let Your Faith Shine

Let your faith shine through!Today, in the spirit of #ThoughtfulThursday, I bring you the first of many posts on thoughts that may transform your outlook or enjoyment of life.

Last week Maya Angelou, one of my all time favorite activists and poets, was called home to glory.  What I loved most about Dr. Angelou, was her unwavering ability to have faith in people, no matter the circumstance.  Her faith was more than just a personal source of strength, courage, opportunity, love, determination, pride, imagination, creativity, and success, it also kindled the fire of the same for so many others.

In the spirit of Dr. Angelou, my grandmother, and the many others who have gone home to glory, I will ardently work to “let my faith shine through” every day and I hope you will do the same!  I have come to believe, wholeheartedly in the power of positive thinking (another T).  Faith in positive outcomes can help you see the beauty in every situation and life lesson.  Faith is more than the whim of an optimistic dreamer it is a guiding light, a manifestation of love, trust, and connection with all that is seen and unseen.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  (Hebrews 11:1, KJV).

So let your faith shine through and joy is soon to follow!

Share your thought(s) after the T!

Love,
T

Happy Monday! New week, perfect time to start something new. I’m starting today with a positive mindset. How about you? ••• 📸x @tamh620
#FlashbackFriday. We sold out our very first Binghamton University Distinguished Speakers Series event and it was amazing! It was such a pleasure hearing from and meeting @boburnham. I will admit, before attending the event I had never watched a moment of your comedy, seen one of the shows you directed or watched the movie— I just read the great press and took our students’ word for how amazing your talent. But after last weekends engagement, I am convinced. Thank you for your commitment to being freely creative, to growth, and to sharing your unapologetically unique brand of funny with the world. I now STAN for Bo. I also had an amazing time working with this bunch. Looking forward to our next Distinguished Speaker Series event.😉🤗💚 #SApro #EventPlanner #binghamtonuniversity

The highlight of my first @cbcfinc Annual Legislative Conference was the @bmcmovement Unbought & Unbossed Brunch, honoring the 50th Anniversary of my Soror Shirley Chisholm’s historic victory, moderated by @erikaalexanderthegreat. From surprising @jehmu with an award to listening to a panel full of #BlackGirlMagic millennial leaders— it brought me to tears. I admire all of the black women on the panel who continue to claim space, fight and stay true to self despite the insurmountable odds in the entertainment, political and policy arenas. It was so hard not to stan, so I didn’t get an individual with Erika— but kicking it with her was a phenomenal experience. She is so much more than Maxine Shaw the Maverick, hearing her lessons and stories truly left me Awh inspired of her knowledge, wisdom and commitment to representation! #BMCatCBC #BMCmovement #ForThePeople #CBCALC18 #UnboughtandUnbossed #shirleychisholm
Fan diva moment — when you run into the dynamic Soror Past National President, Past Southern Region Director, and one of my @tampadeltas1947 favorites, Dr. Paulette Walker at #CBCFALC18. I still remember Dr. Walker’s lessons on the best of Delta business from way back in 2002. AOML... #redalert #dst1913
We are claiming our space! The #BMCMovement Black Millennial Electeds panel was everythang!!! One big takeaway: Don’t wait for someone to speak for you, step up and claim your space to be the voice for yourself and your community! We are not the misprints! #BMCatCBC #ForThePeople #CBCFALC18
It’s all in the views. #BMCatCBC Day 2: Black Millennial Mixer comes to a close and we are seeing things crystal clear — Our Time is Now! • • • Congrats to the dope @symonedsanders and @iammikemuse, we value you.
